Contrary to popular belief, one need not necessarily be an engineer to be a good designer. "A basic understanding of the makeup of the vehicle is important and above all sketching is a vital skill for a designer," says Jagpreet Singh, a freelance automotive designer and faculty at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun.

Since ages, we have seen and created a numerous way of transportation. Land, water, sky, underground, under sea and space travel are just as common as they could be from the usage to design, we have taken huge leaps and have come a long way from the old age. Automobiles provide varied means of transportation.
But what is an automobile? There are a number of definitions that define an automobile.
However, I believe that, "to distinguish the road vehicles from those that do not use road, we have termed automobiles as a device/carriage where a motor is used in connection with the wheels, to port or move passengers and luggage."
Now that's a technical definition of an automobile. But an automobile has something more to it. From a designer's point of view, it's a form of art that goes around us, it's a sculpture that is created in a studio, it's an idea that started from a piece of paper having some lines drawn on it that go and talk to each other in harmony, it's a poem on wheels, it's a dream that helps us travel, it's an affectionate fusion of form and function. It's what we all desire and we deserve.
I am an Automotive Designer with a sharp eye towards creativity and innovation. Minute detail attention towards design's needs are his asset. Every project taken in hands is considered a lifeline. "Finish everything you start" is the key principle.
My clear viewpoint towards designing and sketching is what makes me a competitive person in the design industry. My futuristic, retro, creative and innovative designs are here. And they are here to stay.
India as a country is doing good towards achieving car designing as one of it's careers. Automotive designers, car designers, bike designers etc are all trying to create their impact in the country by their designs. Indian car design industry will reach it's heights in the coming times. We just need to strive for the best.
